TAWAL, the leading Saudi ICT infrastructure company, has signed its first strategic framed service agreement with the prominent telecom service provider, Integrated Telecommunications Company (ITC). Through this agreement, TAWAL will help ITC expand its network through colocating its equipment on TAWAL’s towers. In its initial phase, the agreement will see ITC installing more than 150 sites across the Kingdom.

TAWAL’s acting CEO, Mr. Saeed Alshehri, said TAWAL values this new partnership with an established market leader such as ITC which reflects ITC’s confidence in the reliability and efficiency of TAWAL’s services. “We are proud of this partnership which confirms TAWAL’s status as a key player in Saudi Arabia’s ICT ecosystem, well-positioned to contribute to Saudi Vision 2030’s digital transformation plan.”

Further, Alshehri indicated that through TAWAL’s colocation solutions, service providers and other entities can lease tower space and benefit from TAWAL’s broad portfolio of over 15,000 towers across the Kingdom to expand and upgrade their networks. Colocation includes installation, power supply, conditioning, and security. TAWAL’s partners can also benefit from its built-to-suit solutions through which it undertakes the construction of ultra-modern towers tailored to meet service providers’ needs to expand their connectivity and reach remote areas.

By offering the appropriate groundwork and allowing infrastructure sharing, TAWAL assists in accelerating the roll-out of the 5G network and related future technologies including IoT functions while making a positive impact on the local community and ensuring environmental sustainability.

On his part, ITC’s CEO, Mr. Ghassan Itani said the agreement with TAWAL will serve ITC fast-growing business segment, enabling the company to offer highly efficient next-generation connectivity solutions. “Recently ITC has expanded its services into FTTH and has been winning more fixed enterprise and government projects. The agreement with TAWAL will support ITC horizontal and future wireless expansion plans such as 5G and Point to Multipoint wireless rollout”.

“We will continue to expand our network and ICT services and reach remote areas across the Kingdom in line with the objectives of the National Transformation Program 2020 and the Saudi Vision 2030 ". Eng. Itani Added.

TAWAL will undertake operation and maintenance of the collocated sites. While, ITC as a service provider offering a wide range of broadband and internet services to government entities and private companies, will use TAWAL’s amenities to expand its coverage and enhance its offerings.
